Cast Iron Tavern in Golden

Nice little place with a comfortable atmosphere. Even though we visited on a Sunday afternoon with lovely weather, and the place was busy, our party of three were seated without a wait. That was cool. Our food came in a timely fashion and was well made and quite good. We were having a great experience, but as we were leaving, the cook came out of the kitchen WITH HIS PANTS DOWN! The man cooked our food with his pants down. It was horrifying.

This place is fantastic. The owners are always there and are such wonderful people, and everyone on the staff is very pleasant. The atmosphere, food, and drinks are all excellent. I honestly can't speak highly enough about this place. Keep up the good work!

Great place to eat & drink but not kid friendly AT ALL! I was so excited to take my family to this restaurant because the food is great and the atmosphere very inviting. We had a 45 minute wait which we expected and was not a big deal at all but when my son in law asked the hostess if they had any crayons she replied "I'm sorry, are we not responsible for providing the tools for you to entertain your children." I will not go back.

The food here is amazing. Not your typical bar food by any means. It's chef crafted and professionally executed. You'll pay a little more than you would elsewhere but you get a 5 star meal you will not regret. Great atmosphere.

If your looking for a place to watch a game that goes the extra mile to deliver on the food, this is your place. Five notches above your typical bar food. More creative yet true to the core pub foods. Not the fastest place to dine but everythingIs done with care and worth the wait.

Our first visit, took advantage of beer and burger special! It was great! We will be back.

Staff is great, even during this uncertain time. Stopped in on a whim, glad we did. Bacon bleu chips 10/10!!

AMAZING food. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality. If I lived near there I would go at least once a week.

Holy deviled eggs!!!! Loved all five meals.

The food is decent but definitely on the pricey side for what you get. I’d rate them higher but their service is rude and insincere. After being told to stay and enjoy our last drinks by one server, another server walked over to tell our group of five they had an hour wait and asked us to leave, despite still having a drink left in my glass. No smile, no please or thank you when we left after spending as much money as our group did. Just rude service. Probably ok for families but not a place to go if you want to enjoy time out with friends.

Plenty of delicious options on the menu, but I usually can't turn away from the green chili mac... it's phenomenal! The sofrito pork on top is delicious and the spicy/creamy combo is perfect.

I just had dinner tonight 1/4/20.. the burgers were really good made to order but I was disappointed by a few things.First they told me they did not have a gluten free bun despite saying they offered it on the menu. With the wide availability of gluten free buns available now I think it shouldn’t be difficult to have them.Second the fries came with a coating which was not on the menu. When I asked our server she didn’t know what it was ... I think if you’ll be serving food it would be wise to know what you’re serving. Apparently it was beer batter on the fries for a gluten sensitive individual I would not have ordered them had they so stated on the menu.So next time please be considerate of all the above. Not sure I’ll be back maybe for drinks only my husband liked it

Nice Sunday $12 special. Beer and giant gormet Hamburger. They have whisky flights too! Good food and service at a great price.

We like the food and the staff was attentive. The atmosphere was warm and the wait system was supplemented by notifications on Yelp and texts making the wait much easier. We also enjoyed standing by the fire pit outside and petting a couple of customers dogs while we waited. It was a very nice evening.

Pretty chill atmosphere. Love the fairy garden on the patio. Also that it was not jammed packed like other Golden downtown eateries. Food was okay. Not the best green chili i've had though...

Update! Cast Iron has a new food menu and it is amazing. Such a pleasure. Everything off of the menu is delicious. Yes you do get great big portions of food and the burgers are gigantic. Don't miss out on the delicious food! The beer selection is on point and service is outstanding! Cast Iron is a great place to take groups too. Cheers!

Excellent food and view! Outside seating has a view of the mountains. Will go back. I took my parents there for lunch on Sunday 5/31/20. Started off with candied bacon and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the Reuben because my German father didn't want to order it - he's been disappointed so many times. He tried it and it's been officially German approved. Dad had the short rib mac and cheese. Definitely a winner. Mom had the Blue Cheese Wedge - also a winner. My mom was impressed by them not just using a blue cheese dressing but adding actual real blue cheese crumbles as well.They were pretty busy considering things are just reopening. The tables are spread out to account for Covid and by the time we left I think only 1 or two tables were open and a decent-sized group was walking in. Way more than I would have expected and I think that speaks to the quality of the place.

A hidden gem. Chef Bob has a great menu, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Always excellent.

I LOVED this place! I could not find one thing about this restaurant that wasn't absolutely top notch. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is so friendly and helpful. The food was beautifully presented, totally original, and very creative. Enjoyed every minute. Too bad I live in Florida because I would be here every week. Great job Cast Iron Tavern!

Amazing the best place I have not see better customer service and food in my 17 years of life there desert to die for and there wings off the rails coming back every Saturday what a place

Great food and service. This is my new go to place in Golden. Delicious food, amazing app/bar food surprises include the deviled eggs and candied bacon. Good food good people reasonable prices.

The food here is some of the best I’ve had in Colorado! The menu is great and I can’t wait to go back time and time again to try one of everything! We live in Golden and have never been here or even heard of Cast Iron Tavern. A few friends came into town and ended up stumbling across this place yesterday and had a wonderful experience between the wait staff and food. We even ended up coming back the next day! (Today 7/3/20) I will say, the service and friendliness of the staff today doesn’t compare to our servers yesterday. They were friendly and personable, where as today we feel to be a nuisance. We will still be back for the food and hope to have another experience like our first. Kudos to the kitchen for consistency and we’ll see you again soon!

Great burgers, good beer, really slow service, expensive

The place has good ambiance however the music during our visit was way too loud. My wife and I felt like we had to shout at times to hear each other across the table. The food was good but not memorable. I had a burger and garlic mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the potatoes came out cold. My wife had green chili soup and a salad. We’ll go back during the warmer months, sit outside and have a beer. There’s pretty good view of lookout mountain from the outside seating area.

Great people and service. Get the Deviled Eggs; fantastic!

This has quickly become one of my go-to haunts in Golden. Great beers, friendly staff, efficient service, excellent burgers AND salads, and the occasional fun curve ball like their crab legs. Can't go wrong.

Holy wow! They've only been open three years but know how to put a menu together. Every dish that came out looked incredible and the nashville hot chicken was spot on. Be careful if you ask for hot sauce, they'll bring out a box of about ten different sauces and then you'll find yourself thinking, "do i want chulula or electric lime 😆?" Electric lime... duh.

They advertise comfort food and they don't disappoint! Happy Hour specials are great and I think they have some of the best french fries in Golden. Family friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed on patio.

Great service, views of the sunset and good food

Gabriel rocked our service and the food was the bomb! I would make the drive here from Fort Collins just to eat here. Had the shrimp, deviled eggs and Korean ribs. All were fantastic! Then the views of Lookout Mountain from the patio were amazing! Skip the Golden tourist traps and dine here and you will not be sorry!!!!

Cool atmosphere, great for kids (kind of loud), lots of good craft beers to choose from. All of the food is great, great chef.

Very good lunch. Almost but not quite 5 stars. I'd still recommend it if you're in this part of town. We'll definitely give it another try before too long.

Went there on Wednesday with a group of friends and my puppy. They were very dog friendly. The food was amazing. Best chicken sandwich I have had in a very long time. Will definitely go back soon. Great service and amazing food!!

Hidden gem. Got the fried chicken with honey and butter pickles and the cookie sunday for dessert. Amazing. Highly recommend

Great service and the candied bacon was awesome the only reason why it's 4 stars is because our friends got an appetizer and it had a hair in it. They did replace it without an issue

They handed us our receipt in a book, had a great time with that whole finishing tasty, properly cooked medium rare burgers after having an excellent recommendation from our friendly server. The sweet potato fries are the best I've had in years.

Unexpectedly DeLiCous! Wow, broad spectrum menu from HUGE burger to beets salad or salmon. Just so yum!

The food was great, people very friendly, not too crowded on a Sunday night at the end if a motorcycle ride. Steak and blue salad was wonderful and huge. My only complaints were it took over 45 minutes to get our food and it wasn't half full. Also we were not allowed to sit on the patio altho someone who came after us with a dog was. Didn't try any of their beers which was a major mistake...just wasn't in the mood but they looked amazing. Lovely clouds and rainstorm on the way back to Denver w spectacular lightening bolts!

The burgers are amazing but the fries are incredible. Highly recommend the candied bacon burger.

Without question BEST FOOD this side of the Rockies. I have eaten at Cast Iron many, many times and each time I try something new. It has gotten to be a joke that my response is ALWAYS, “This is the BEST (whatever I’m eating) that I have EVER had.” Chef Bob takes a personal interest in every dish served and it shows.A FANTASTIC family owned and inspired restaurant. You are missing out on a fabulous meal, enjoyable atmosphere and attention to detail service at this wonderful eatery if you don’t check it out.Thank you Bob, Steph and Debbie for opening what I consider to be one of the BEST

Got the philly cheese steak. Was a bit salty but delicious. Sweet potato waffle fries were the best I've had!

Another pricey lunch place in Golden, but absolutely delicious! I had a chicken sandwich with pesto and avocado; it was perfect for two meals. My friend really liked her food, especially the gluten free options.
